Viviana Lombrozo

Visual Artist

Welcome to my website.

"My work ranges from painting, sculpture, book arts, and textiles to installations and site-specific pieces. The nature of each project dictates its form, content, and the choice of materials. Ideas are central to my art, therefore, it is not restricted to one medium. I recognize that materials simultaneously have meaning and produce meaning.

I am interested in the connection between language, time, history, and memory. Each project becomes a journey of discovery.

I believe that art can be a vehicle for investigating and constructing a new vision of reality. It is a powerful tool that helps us to expand our understanding of our fellow humans, our world, and ourselves"

Born in Mexico City, Viviana studied art at "La Esmeralda, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes." She became a San Diego resident in 1981 and earned her degree in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego. She has done graduate studies in painting, sculpture and mixed media. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented in public and private collections.
